The Diary of a Godly Housewife (Pt. 14. “Where shall we go…to find Jesus?”)

by Aaron Dunlop

Sunday 25th Dec. 1881. “Mr. ………. preached in the morning from “Let us now go even unto Bethlehem etc.,” the shepherds knew where to go to find Jesus, but where, in this 19th century, where shall we go? Jesus is to be found in the ordinances of His house, and it is our duty to be present at the ordinances of the place with which we are connected (no one can attend all the services held in this village). Why should we attend the weeknight meetings? “The minister is there,” that is not the reason!; “other friends are there” that is not the reason; “I go for example sake” that is not sufficient reason. The Master is there! Then we should be present to meet him.”
